fitzroy house retro-fit

Architectural and Structural Retro-Fit

Fitzroy House, also known as C Block, is the future home of the University of Nottingham Business School. As the University seeks to transform the building into a new education hub, we are faced with the challenge of analysing the existing facade and making necessary changes that bring the building performance up to modern standards.

When Fitzroy house was built 30 years ago, the building design included cutting edge technology. As this technology is now outdated we aim to apply innovative design strategies to the facade addressing the long-standing issues of thermal comfort and poor daylighting.

Our design considerations will include: Retaining the aesthetic of the listed building, Improving human comfort and Future proofing the building

In collaboration with Aaid Hussain, Saffron Nicholson and Wong Wai Lun Eros
